demonstrated in the tape and in the written review.
3.
If necessary, a role-play may be substituted for an actual interview, consistent
with the above guidelines.

The tape and the written
evaluation presented must
demonstrate the applicant’s
ability to work with two or more people, in relationship, where the focus is

with the clients.

identified
theoretical perspective.
In addition, the written analysis must demonstrate the ability to:
1. Reflect on the strengths and weaknesses demonstrated
in the taped session.
2. Reflect on the clients’ or one’s
own projections evident within
the session.
3. Describe the applicant’s theoretical perspective.
The Association offers the following guidelines
to assist progression to the master clinician level of membership: Make yourself familiar with the Criteria for the
Accreditation of Master Clinicians (above).
If you are unclear about the criteria please discuss this with:
(i)
Your
supervisor;
(ii)
State
Representative or Membership Secretary;
(iii)
An AARC Master Clinician who is familiar with the criteria.
It is highly recommended that you have an AARC Master Clinician support you
through this process.
Consider
this tape and
the written material an assessment of your ability to
meet the criteria. Not primarily a demonstration of your preferred
model or theory of counselling.
Selection
of an appropriate tape is an important element of assessment. The Clinical
Practices Sub-Committee (CPSC) assesses your tape against the Clinical
Criteria. You do not necessarily need to use a complex
case.
Applicants
must
demonstrate
their ability to work with the relationship between
two or more people present in the session. If this is
not demonstrated, applicants will be asked to re-submit another tape.
